There Are No B+ Dealmakers

The week of Dec. 2 was a whirlwind. I traveled to Miami for our fifth Dealmaker Mastermind meetup.

(Don’t tell my wife I was drinking Champagne on the flight over. It was 11 a.m., but I thought… What the heck. Enjoy myself!)

At the meetup on Monday, 60 of my top-performing dealmakers were in attendance for a full day of advanced training, deal reviews, case studies, Q&A sessions, networking and, as always…

This is my favorite part of being a coach and thought leader.

Celebrating with students who have jumped into the program, taken massive action and achieved massive results — profiting from buying and owning small businesses.

Some of their stories are truly inspiring…

Tales of frustrated employees who decided enough was enough — no more working for other people. Buy and own a profitable business, use the cash flow to replace their income and then boom… leave.

We rounded off the day with dinner and drinks at a nearby restaurant. All in all, it was an excellent day.

It was the largest, longest and by far most productive meetup so far.

The day after the meetup, my business partner Adam Markley and I stayed behind in Miami to work on two deals that we are scheduled to close in early January.

You see, results are binary. You either achieve them or you don’t.

When it comes to buying a business, you either close on the deal… or you don’t.

There is no 90% score. No B+ dealmakers.

The deal closes… or it doesn’t. You own the business… or you don’t.

Having the right mindset is key to pushing you and the deal all the way past the finish line.

During the journey, there will be fun and exciting times…

There will be difficult times (that’s where your mindset pulls you through)…

And there may be times you are confused, stuck or in need of assistance.
