It’s a New Day at Dealmaker Wealth Society

When we were in the throes of the corona quarantine earlier this spring, co-founder Adam Markley filmed a video about the power of the pivot

How small businesses need to be nimble and resilient enough to survive under any circumstances or market conditions.

Well, this week has all been about the power of the pivot for me AND Dealmaker Wealth Society.

There are TWO massive things going on in my life right now that are being completely defined by pivoting. And both have lessons for you as a dealmaker.

Let me explain…

As you know from the recent announcement, my wingman Adam and I have carved Dealmaker Wealth Society out of Agora and brought it back under independent ownership. Although we have a couple equity partners in the business, we’re back in control of its strategic direction.

For those who may not know, almost 12 months ago I sold my original business Ninja Acquisitions (later renamed Dealmaker Wealth Society) to Agora in the hopes of massively scaling it.

It was Christmas Day in Carl Allen world — the deal was everything I hoped it would be.

Then COVID-19 hit. Agora took a hard look at its core strengths and found it necessary to double down on those.

As a result, it became clear that the dealmaking movement and tribe we’re building wasn’t going grow and thrive as quickly as we wanted it to.

So we bought the business back.

Why?

My goal, my outcome, has always been to completely transform and disrupt the buying and selling of small businesses worldwide — — and to give as many people as possible access to the wealth and freedom that comes from entrepreneurship.

NOTHING will stand in my way.

By negotiating the separation from Agora, we stayed committed to my goal yet flexible in how we approach getting there.

The team coming with me and Adam is just as passionate as we are. I truly believe you will LOVE the business as it evolves… and I hope your circumstances evolve for the best right along with us!

The other major initiative I’m implementing right now is 75 HARD, the self-proclaimed “Ironman for the brain.”

As of this writing I’m on day 34 — and it’s been quite the journey so far.

During my gym sessions, I have lifted close to 740,000 pounds (340,000 kilos) — roughly the weight of a Boeing 747.

Amazing, right?

I was blazing a trail. I had already dropped 18 pounds, drunk 34 gallons of water (and NO alcohol!), and read 2,000 pages. I was killing it!

Then last weekend, I injured my back. I couldn’t sleep and could hardly walk, but I carried on with my training.

On Monday, I saw a chiropractor, had a sports massage and visited my doctor.

All three said, “STOP 75 HARD.”

They agreed that my back needed at least five days to recover and that pounding it every day would make it worse.

WTF?!

My goal? Finish 75 HARD.

My approach? OK, maybe that could be more flexible.

So I went to see my trainer and we made some BIG changes. He told me to:

I’m happy to say my back is improving. I can now comfortably walk, sleep, train, drive and do most other things.

So, what does this mean for buying a business?

Nothing in life worth having is easy — at least not 100% of the time.

There are always bumps in the road causing you to need to change course.

But if you stay COMMITTED to your desired OUTCOME while being FLEXIBLE in your APPROACH…

Amazing things will happen — and you will see RESULTS!

But don’t forget to capture what you learn from every pivot along the way…

There is no failure in this business, only feedback. (You only fail if you quit.)

Stay 100% committed to your outcome. Whatever your WHY is, let those powerful emotions fuel you forward…

And ABSOLUTELY stay flexible in your approach to get the job done — no matter what.

Until next time, bye for now.

Carl Allen

P.S. Massive thanks to those of you who saw our separation announcement and wrote in to express your support and well wishes. I cannot tell you how grateful we are for all of you. The only question that came up a few times was around access to previously purchased programs. The very short answer is you do NOT need to repurchase anything and you will continue to have lifetime access to your content on our site.
