Book Review: Extreme Ownership

A “boss” does not make a leader.

People in leadership positions are everywhere…

It doesn’t mean they’re good at them.

Truth is, leaders that inspire, foster teamwork, and set a motivational tone are few and far between.

You may have experienced this phenomenon yourself — working for a boss who acts more like Kim Jong-un than Michael Jordan.

I worked for several large corporate companies where leadership training was part of the fabric of the organization. But not everyone’s had that opportunity.

So where can you learn from?

In addition to reading books by successful CEOs, look to the military.

We talked about this on Monday — the military forces exhibit so many of the leadership traits that are critical to dealmaking.

Jocko Willink and Leif Babin are the co-authors of the blockbuster bestseller Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALS Lead and Win.

If you haven’t already read it, I highly encourage you to watch today’s book review and pick up a copy.

As I always say, success leaves clues…

And the military is no exception.
